Catching Up

The days of Single in the Suburbs are long gone. This blog is about to change a lot. I have been inconsistent in writing, but I have also felt uninspired. Leave it to big life changes to add a little spice and motivation!

So, I have some news. I am currently 18 weeks and six days pregnant. The six days part doesn’t really matter, but all of us pregnant peeps seem to write things like “18wd6” in posts when asking for advice, so I have succumbed to this. I wonder if I will also say my child is “14 months” one day. I have always felt that is a weird thing to do — can’t we just say, “(s)he is a year old” and leave it at that? Then, we can move to, “a year and a half” before reaching the terrible twos.

Anyway, you’ve missed out on a lot of my pregnancy. But being the person I am, I have been writing about it all the time, and creating voice recordings so that I can have a beginning to end, detailing what my pregnancy is like. I have been very lucky to “go through” two pregnancies with really close friends, so I had some kind of framework of what to expect. But, every pregnancy is so different and yours will not be in sync with mine, just as I am going through some different things than my friends experienced.

My next post on here is going to be week four, the story about when I found out I was pregnant. Then, we’ll move forward to eventually catch up to my current state. I have a lot to cover, though! There are many symptoms, feelings, and new experiences that I need to tell you about.

I understand pregnancy is a very touchy topic, so please feel free to unfollow me on any platforms that feel triggering. I want to be able to share, but I do not want anyone hurting in the process. No hard feelings at all, and an “unfollow” will not change the way I feel about you. Sending love to all the moms, soon-to-be’s, those trying, and those who are not.
